Stephen L. Rabin

Stephen “Steve” Rabin is a storyteller and communications strategist, specializing in speechwriting, copywriting, media training, creative, brand/message development, and executive communications. He has worked with governors, cabinet secretaries, astronauts, political candidates, activists, philanthropists, businesses, CEOs and scientists in high profile, high pressure environments, including: the rollout of HealthCare.gov; Governor Martin O’Malley’s fights for re-election, marriage equality, and a ban on assault weapons; the Ebola outbreak; and NASA’s Journey to Mars.

Steve has served as Senior Advisor and Speechwriter at NASA, Director of Speechwriting at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and Chief Speechwriter to then Governor Martin O'Malley of Maryland.

 

He has taken the lead pen on five State of the State addresses, op-eds that have appeared in newspapers across the country, a prime time address at the Democratic National Convention, testimony that's been quoted in front page stories, along with hundreds of speeches, op-eds, and other communications materials.

Through his freelance work, he's drafted television spots, flash animation scripts, and political direct mail, in addition to countless sets of speeches and talking points.  

​

Earlier in Steve's career he served as Press Secretary to then Congressman Anthony Weiner  (D-NY), Deputy Executive Director of the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC), and Policy Director to 2006 U.S. Senate candidate Jim Pederson (D-AZ).  

 

He was a member of Team Franken that assisted Al Franken with his #1 NY Times best selling book Lies & the Lying Liars that Tell Them.

A Harry S Truman Scholar and REALITY Scholar, Steve received a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University and a BA from Brandeis University, from which he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
